Carrie Glazier Director carrie@springstreetfinancial.com
With her love of the outdoors beginning in early childhood, Carrie would go camping with her family at every opportunity throughout her native New England. She enjoyed hiking, fishing, sailing, swimming, skiing, and cycling. And when her family moved to Florida, well, she naturally took up surfing, which she passionately pursues today. An avid cyclist in college at the University of Florida in Gainesville, she rarely used the '61 beetle she bought for $200. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition in 1981, she then attended the University of North Florida with post graduate studies in business and accountancy.
Following her passion for food science, Carrie took a position with a brewery just north of Atlanta, Georgia, where she had an opportunity to oversee the quality control and complex production processes used to develop and package beer. She continues to study the impact of natural foods, vitamins, and minerals on health and the body. A few moments with Carrie and you will find that she is an avid reader and current on many topics of interest.
Her parents' early understanding of the appreciating values in Florida real estate is what motivated their relocation to Florida. And soon after college, Carrie purchased her first rental property at age 26 and has been investing in building her real estate portfolio ever since. She soon found that the Atlanta real estate marketplace held many an opportunity for an investor. Real Estate can help diversify a portfolio and long-term holds of rental property is an effective strategy, says Carrie. Carrie has now been involved in real estate investing for over 20 years and is a member of Georgia Real Estate Investors Association (GAREIA). And, in 1997, Carrie left corporate management to pursue real estate investing full time with Marta Shen.
As a real estate investor, rehabber, and an active landlord, Carrie has an extensive background in the challenges that face investors interested in the residential real estate market.
Carrie often misses the Atlantic Ocean and hiking the Sierra. Her only wish is that Atlanta was on the beach—but a drive to the coast when surf's up is always a great distraction from the busy bustle of city living.
